Coventry Health Care Small Group Products

Coventry Health Care offers a number of standard small group products to meet the needs of its wide member base. For additional information on these products, and a full explanation of how Coventry Health Care can provide the best solution for your business, request more information:

    Health Management Organizations:

HMOs provide comprehensive coverage with a low, predictable copayment. Members who elect this option choose a Primary Care Provider from the Coventry network, and that physician is then the primary coordinator for all care. In order to receive full policy coverage, members must seek in-network treatment.

    Preferred Provider Organizations:

These PPO products are managed care solutions which allow members the freedom to seek treatment from any provider in the Coventry network without a referral. Primary Care Physicians are no longer necessary, and certain out-of-network treatment is still covered, although at a lower policy contribution level.

    Point of Service Plans:

POS options present a compromise between HMOs and PPOs, eliminating the need for a Primary Care Physician yet continuing to offer discounted costs for in-network treatment. Members may see any provider in the network, and pay higher costs only when seeing a physician not in the plan.

    Traditional Indemnity Options:

These fee-for-service plans offer the widest amount of member freedom, but also may be the most expensive coverage option. Members may see any provider, in or outside of the network, without a Primary Care Physician or referral. That said, freedom from the plan network also eliminates in-network discounts, so providers are paid full cost for their services and both the plan and member contribution is higher.
