Aetna Small Group Health Products
Aetna Choice™ POS Plan:
This Point-of-Service option brings together the affordability of an HMO with the member control of a PPO. Each member designates a Primary Care Physician, just like with an HMO, but then you have the flexibility to seek referrals and additional treatment out-of-network while still maintaining a level of Aetna coverage.
Aetna Choice™ PPO Plan:
This Preferred Provider Organization plan extends the freedom of the POS product, eliminating the need for a Primary Care Physician and enabling referrals without any approval from a PCP. This option prioritizes member control and care flexibility over pricing.
Aetna Direct™ Indemnity Plan:
This traditional fee-for-service product offers the widest level of flexibility and member choice, enabling coverage without network requirements. Aetna will pay out a pre-determined amount to any physician or care provider you see, after which you may be responsible for any remaining expense.
Aetna Primary Care™ HMO Plan:
A Health Management Organization option, this product requires members seek in-network care and coordinate all appointments and spending through a Primary Care Physician. This popular choice is the least expensive for members, as well as contributing employers, yet limits the amount of choice each employee member has in his care.
